2001 Limited edition Red White and Blue Gibson Les Paul Standard

For playing Gibson guitars almost exclusively for nearly a quarter century, Gibson kindly presented Johnny with this one in early 2002 (a deal cleverly handled by Cracker's management). While Johnny briefly considered customizing the new Les Paul, a la Lucky Number Seven and The Fish Guitar, remembering that it was a limited edition, he finally decided to leave it as is. Johnny says he is becoming fond of it despite some friendly teasing from the band for its appearance.

Says Johnny: "It's got a clearer, sweeter tone than the black one and I'm liking it. Who knows, I may end up hot rodding it after awhile anyway. In my hands it will get beat up on the road regardless, poor thing."
